Question about the Military?

well i wanted to know if i join the military can i bring my girlfriend and she can live off base or do we have to be married for that? Also can she live off base without me and will it still be paid by the military or do we have to live together. Also in everyone's opinion what is the best branch of the military to join and why?
 
She can't live on base until you're married.

If you're NOT married, you won't be able to live off base (usually) until you hit E4 with 3 years in service.

She's free to live off base, but the government won't pay for her rent if she's just a girlfriend.

-- a good branch to join is the Air Force, it's the best living conditions and the nicest bases.

Don't get married just for a housing allowance or the inconvenience of a long distance relationship, divorce rates are sky high (and even higher in the military)
