In Papyrus 23 there is a variant from the Greek text used by Wescott/Hort in James 1, verse 17.

Wescott/Hort reads: παραλλαγη η τροπης
Papyrus 23 reads (in majuscule, of course): παραλλαγη ? η τροπης

The question mark is either Ο or Σ (which in the script of P23 is written like a "C", hence the confusion between "O" and "C").

Does anyone know which it is?

It may be an extension of either the word before or after it, if that helps.
It's the eleventh line, twelfth letter in.
