I'm going to OSUT for 31B (Military Police) in August for the Army Reserve. After college I plan to go active duty, now here is where it might get tricky...

When I go active I am thinking of switching to 11B infantry or 19D Cavalry Scout (I'm leaning more toward 19D). I would only do maybe four years in that MOS.

Then I was thinking I would want to go back to Military Police, either active or back to reserve.

my questions are, would the Army frown upon me doing this?

and when I go from 11B or 19D would I have to go back through AIT for 31B, or could I just go right back to being an MP?
In case of any confusion. I would only go 11B OR 19D, I would do both

All I know is that you won't have to go back to 31B AIT after you go back to the Reserves.

They may not let you switch to 11B/19D until your contract ends. The Army may just want you to go on active duty as a 31B. You may have to re-enlist to get the leverage you need to reclass.

Once you go back to the Reserves, they don't have combat arms units, so they should have no problem letting you go back to 31B.

EDIT: If that's true about them only letting you change MOS's once, come on over to the Guard. You can play all kinds of MOS switching games with critical skills, critical units, unit transformations, etc... it's great for cross training.

You need to be careful with MOS's like those, they're critical, and you may not be allowed to change. I have a friend that's been 11B for 6 years and he's getting out because they won't let him change. 31B and 11B I know are both considered critical and your chances of re-classing are slim to none. If you want to jump around I would pick another MOS.

I believe the MOS's that you are talking about have basic and AIT together so jumping around would not be an option. Plus they don't like to let people out of those jobs hence the fat bonus. I would say talk to a recruiter but they will tell you whatever you want to hear. Best advice is to pick an MOS you would be interested in making a career out of. Think long and hard.

like many of these guys have said you can only switch once and you can only switch your MOS when they ask you to re-enlist..... MP's are involved in a lot of things the infantry are and more being that they watch over them and make sure everything is going smoothly so choose wisely

You can only switch your MOS once. Or if you serve out a contract and they want you to re-up you can say I want to change my MOS and they should let you. If by some miracle you could change it that many times you would have to o back through some sort of training for that specific MOS.
