Question about summer programs at colleges?

I'm in high school and I am trying to plan my summer for next year and a friend of mine is doing a program at Colombia University in NYC and its a 3 week program where you take one or more classes and stay at the campus. I was wondering if anyone knows of programs just like this but in different places throughout the US? perhaps in California?
