Question about statement on Law and Order SVU regarding abuse?

On last nights Law and Order SVU Olivia said after an examination of a young child, "He may have still been abused, exams won't show if he was digitally abused" (this may not be the exact quote but close enough). I have never heard this term used before and my husband and I disagreed on what we think it is. I tried to look it up on Google but I am a little skeptical on clicking on any websites as I don't want to look at any websites that are risqué or might lead to a virus. I think it has to do with digital images (pictures, videos etc.), my husband think it has something to do with "finger" (digits). Anyone know who is right...I can't believe that he would be but I want to know for sure.
 
They were talking about whether or not someone may have penetrated him with a finger. It wouldn't leave any seaman residue, etc.

Definitely they were talking about fingers.
