Question about severly assymetrical deformed rib cage

I have severely asymmetrical ribs. Everything I can find online talks about rib protrusion, which seems common in women, ie- people say one side of their rib cage sticks outward more than the other. However, in addition to this, it actually appears I could have an additional rib on one side - the left side of my rib cage ends three or so inches further down on my torso than my right. Is there anywhere I can find information regarding this? and if I do have an extra rib, is there anything to worry about long term? when doing strenuous exercise or bending fully forward sometimes i feel a snap in my left side, as if muscle gets caught under my last left rib and it's very awkward and uncomfortable. In addition to this, it's a clear physical deformity that can be seen any time i am in a bathing suit or don't have a shirt on. I can post a picture if that is possible. Thanks very much.

have you ever had just that ribcage actually x rayed just to see it clearly? the reading rad would be able to tell if there just IS any real actual deformity vs 'something' that just 'could' be more underlying that can actually create what appears to be a deformity? in my case, my ribs were like always seeming to be more pronounced and kind of pushed out in a way, ever since i was like in high school? what i did NOT know at all then and did not actually find out til i was around 40 years old was that i had actually been born with a cystic kidney disease that was actually causing more of my ribcage to be more pushed out? it was the inner fullness that was creating this in me? the one thing you just really need to do here is simply have your ribs x rayed and a hands on palpated abdominal exam that any good doc would just know or in most cases be able to 'feel' if the abdominal organs could be an underlying issue(doing some basic labwork might not hurt either)?

i am in NO WAY saying this IS going on, but when it comes to that ribcage, there just can in some cases be a very real reason for the more pronounced 'deformity" or you could just be also born this way too? but at this point i just would at least get that x ray and see your doc about it? espescially if it is feeling like 'something' is actually 'catching' on that lower end of your ribcage? you just need to know if this is just the way "you' and your anatomy were formed or if something is making this 'look' this way, ya know what i mean? the rad would be able to also tell by simply counting the ribs on each side as to whether or not you actually do have an extra rib as well? it really is more common than one would think. just get at least the x ray then go from there. you also just need to find out exactly what it is that you are feeling that is possibly 'catching'? while it could be muscle, it could also be like an intestinal segment or an organ or something that would just be there where that rib is if it is lower down than the norm too? just get this all much better defined. that is what i would do if i were experiencing what you are right now anyways. hopefully and more likely this just really IS you and your particular anatomy, but you wont know for certain til other possibles are ruled out too. and if this IS catching on 'something" they can possibly remove the lower rib too just for your comfort and to try and prevent any damage to the 'caught' area? please let me know what you find out.
