Question About Ready Boost?

im an xp user for a long time, but suddenly i heard this great program from windows called Ready Boost i heard it dramatically increases your pc speed just using your USB i plan to buy windows 7 just for that program but before i can waste my money i just want to know how effective it is, if i have 1gb ram and put in a 4gb flash drive in my pc how much speed will it add?, thanks in advance for answering
