Question about Quadrophenia

Near the end of the film where Jimmy (Phil Daniels) takes Ace's bike (Sting) does anyone know the hotel where Ace is working as bell boy???
I'm not sure whether it's Grand Hotel or not but it doesn'y look it.:)
 
I can't remember exactly the ending of the film, but I don't think it is the Grand. I lived in Brighton for 10 years and its probably been that long since I watched Quadrophenia, but I think that hotel is eastern end (near the marina) of the seafront, where as the Grand is more to the western end.
 
I'm not sure about that I'm afraid. I always thought it was the Grand, until I saw the film a second time.

But over 20 years ago, on a family day out to Brighton, I had an urge to find the alley where Jimmy had more than a snog with Steph. I just went where I reckoned it'd be. I knew they went past a cinema in the film, so I found that and went from there. To my amazement, I found it. at the end was 'THE' door, scrawled with graffiti and fan messages. I took a few pics and was so pleased that I'd found the right place. I wonder if it's still there now?
 
I would think it is, though perhaps not in the same state as you saw it last. If I remember rightly that was not far from the Lanes wasn't it, my memory if hazy at the best of times. Guess I'll have to watch the film again, just to satisfy my curiosity.
