question about PRL and coverage on BB tour

So I did a dull flash on a BB tour this week.. used a "new prl" list from a popular web site. I can do a *228 successfully. I spent a lot of time in an area where I have really bad coverage but the cricket map says I should have good coverage. How can I tell if the *228 REALLY gave me good PRLs?

If the phone works then you got a good PRL, now as for good it depends on the area and might require a little experiment on your behalf.
Be patient, people are willing to help when they know.
It means just that you have a new nationwide PRL version 32100.
You can try changing it to your local SID, this may help with data and MMS. I always change it to my customers SID when I flash a Blackberry.

Sorry, I didnt mean to sound impatient.. Im having no real trouble with MMS cept when I end up roaming.... soon as I come back off roam I get my messages. Thanks for the response... very helpful

Why quickly? I read SIDs arent even used anymore.. however, when out of town Cricket had me change mine once. I'll change it once I figure out what it needs to be... off to search!

Also if you are worried about your prl try the 1042 prl that is a standard nationwide prl but I believe it is non EVDO. But you can atleast answer your own ? with it. If you load it and its reception still sucks then you know its just your coverage area or the internal antenna sucks. Diff for every type of phone. For example my htc touch pro had horrible reception when my enVII had killer reception and now my Incognito has almost full reception all the time. But try that prl and see if that helps and if its the same crappy conn. then just 228 again but if you 228'd it and thats the prl you got then its meant for your area and the receiver in the phone just sucks

Its a BB tour so I doubt the receiver sucks but I suppose its possible.. I'll try what you suggest, easy enough.. but looks like Im bailing next month and going to verizon.. I have two houses I visit where coverage drops.. just a pain.
