Question, I have been considering a career in law enforcement but the only problem is I was discharged from the army for failing a drug test for cocaine. It was a one time thing and I got a general honorable circumstances discharge so I am not barred from applying to the police force.
I asked the police recruiter hotline and they said its case by case.

Other than that I have no criminal history, never been arrested and only have 1 speeding ticket on my record, spent 2 years in the army 82nd airborne, what are the odds of my seperation from the military making me unhireable in the police force.

Also, any suggestions?

EDIT: Also, I live in Los Angeles California and am planning to move to San Francisco in a couple of months, any info on SFPD or LAPD I should know?

You either got a general or an honorable, I've never heard of "general honorable".
