Question about pain & getting upset?

Just wondering I had nerve block root injec last week, at 1st it didn't seem to work but now 9 days later seems to feel alot better. I have someone in my family that really upsets me that I'm dealing with. I noticed yesterday when I got real upset the pain came on big time. Could it be the nerve damage I have reacting to my nerves by getting upset? Just wondering. Thanks
 
I know when I'm upset or stressed my muscles tense up. When my muscles tense they compress the nerves even more causing more pain.
