question about nextel 860 and sim

i just got a nextel 860 about 3 days ago. i noticed when the sim is out the phone doesnt let u bypass the startup screen. when u save ringtones voice record pics etc where does it store to the sim or the phones memory. anyone who knows reply thankyou

you only save your phones numbers and d/cs your ring tones are save in the phone and picture and your aud.
