Question about new every two with Verizon Wireless?

I've had a 2 year contract going with Verizon since October 2008. My plan qualifies for the "new every two" upgrade discount. I've had the same blackberry curve since I bought it, and have never actually upgraded my phone. What I'm wondering is, do I get reimbursed for the months that I never upgraded? Like a bigger discount when the next 2 month cycle ends? Or does it just cancel the discount if it isn't used? Either way it's not a big deal, just thought it'd be cool to get a really good discount on a new phone :D
