Question about my flash drive?

Ok so i bought a new flash drive because im making a movie that was on my other computer but it didnt have enough space to save it so i saved it to my new memory card. I put the drive into my laptop. So i went to movie maker and when i went to open file, the movies there but wen i try to open it nothing happens. So i tryed importing a file from it but when i try to import it, it says theres no files there?

What format is the flash drive in? make sure its fat32 or something so that older generations of windows can read them.

Try dragging the file to your laptop then try opening it from there.
 
Is it a shortcut to the movie? Make sure you copy the file to your flash drive, not make a shortcut on your flash drive which sometimes happens automatically when you drag the file. Also, all the pictures and movie clips in the movie must also be in the same folder on your flash drive.
