I may be getting an MRI w/ contrast of the abdomen. I have pain in my back as well (i.e, the pain is in my abdomen and wraps around to the same exact spot in my back). Will the MRI also take into account my back area?
If your MRI is for abdominal problems they won't approach their review the same way as if you were there for spine problems. And, it's possible they won't cover the whole spine. I suppose you could ask if it could be reviewed for both but ask in advance. You would likely need a doctor's order for it to be reviewed for spinal problems.
Of course, if they were to find any significant unexpected spine abnormality while looking at your abdomen they'd report it.
