Tomorrow I am meeting a really wellknown radio presenter, as my mum knows him well and has told him about my enthusiasm towards radio. I aspire to be a radio presenter, but I duno what to study for it? I know that having good contacts like him is a major boost, but I've heard Media is the thing to do? Is this true? I can't do it now in GCSE, but I can at Sixth Form and University. Is media linked with radio? Thanks.

From your speech I'm assuming you are British?

The best way to go is to study journalism. Most programs start out general for the first two years (of a four-year program). The last two years you specialize in a field that is best suited for you - print, magazine, broadcasting (radio, TV), online media.

The person you'll meet with will have some more suggestions for you. It's great that you'll have a one-on-one with a seasoned professional. Also ask if he can be your mentor. People in the business can guide and direct you ... and get you a job after graduation. Trust me...it works!
