Question about LCD for 6680

Have any of you experienced this problem: when you set the LCD display brightness to the middle/medium setting, sometimes the LCD screen still goes to full brightness, then it dims to the original middle/medium setting, and it fluctuates between full brightness and the medium setting like that? I don't know if it has anything to do with having the phone plugged into the charger, but it's weird!
 
i noticed that if you press certain keys during certain situations, it makes the brightness go to full, even if you have it on the medium setting in the display settings. For example, when i tap the power button and i'm on the medium brightness display setting, the screen will go to full brightness and will continue to stay that way until i don't touch the phone for a little while, and then the backlight will dim again to the medium brightness setting. also, let's say i have the keypad locked, and i am on the medium brightness display setting. now, if i were to tap the #9 button a couple of times, the screen will go up to full brightness and then stay that way until i leave the phone alone for a little while and then the backlight dims to medium, and then if i leave it alone long enough it'll dim all the way (this is essentially the same effect as tapping the power button, which i mentioned earlier). help?
