Question about iPod touch 4g video?

Okay I'm so confused.I have a canon fs200 that I use to film. It's a standard def. Camcorder.I just got the iPod touch 4th generation and it has 720p at 30 frames per second which I heard online is High definition. Solo my question is,is the canon fs200 worse than the iPod touch video quality???
I know the zoom is way better but what about the actual video quality???
