Question about Iphone !!!?

ok so this March im planning on treating myself and buying an Iphone 3GS for my birthday. i said this to my friends, and they all discouraged me telling me for the past 2-3 years every July ATT or Apple or w.e has made a new iphone and that chances are this July they will make a new one and i should wait to get that one. Is this true? is a new iphone comming out in July? this probably has not been announced by ATT has it? what do you think?
 
Well... 4G will be here soon, once that is done, then I'm sure we'll see a new iPhone. I would put a guess as to say there will be a new iPhone within a year, maybe not as early as June though. Wait until March and see if there are any rumours around.
