Question about Financial Aid?

I have some questions about Financial Aid for college. How/when do I apply for it? I currently applied to 2 colleges, maybe my only ones im applying to, and im just wondering if i apply for financial aid after i get accepted or now or what? also do i apply for each school separately or would they be the same? how do i apply also? ive heard of something called FASFA i think but idk ? just wanting general info here, anything appreciated.
