Question about Education Degrees?

If I were to get an A.A Degree in Elementary Education at a community college, and then go on and get a Bachelors in Music Ed from a University, could I teach general elementary (like the ones that are in the classroom all day and teach math, english, science, history...) as well as teach Music?

Well I went to an elementary school that had a teacher for the ones in the classroom for math, science etc etc all day, and then we had one day of the week for music, art, PE, media centre, and tech lab. And each of those were taught by a separate teacher. I guess it depends on what school you go and teach at.

Different states have different requirements for licensing, so I doubt that anyone can give you a definitive answer without knowing what state you are from. Your best bet would be to contact the education department of a prospective university in your state and ask them.

well...if you get a bachelors in Music Ed. you'll be certified to teach music. and if you get an AA degree in elementary ed, you'll be a general ed teacher (teaching math, english, science) but you won't be able to do both.

one is a special and one is general education. Unless you find an elementary school that does things different and allows teacher to do both but I don't know
