Question about dyed hair fading.?

I recently got my hair dyed (about 10 days ago) and its already fading from the ends and the middle is some places. I went from medium brown to dark red and the hair dresser had to use two bottles of dye because "my hair was too thick". I've washed it twice since then, both times with shampoo that says its colour safe (not specifically for coloured hair, but I didn't have access to anything else). Should I just accept the fact my hair doesn't want to be dyed and live with it, or go back to the salon, get it redone and try again?
