Ok, you know that auto companies are worrying about losing money due to lack of selling SUV's etc. Do you think that it would be a good idea if companies reimbursed customers for their used vehicles and then reuse the parts to make more compact cars. I see it as the companies will save money buying used resources instead of new from foreign countries, keep the customers they had who hocked their unwanted cars so that they buy the compact, customers gets money back, and more jobs are created to meltdown unwanted cars to make new compact cars.

The car companies could also make the new car with used steel into hybrid cars and sell them as a new marketing promotion of a go green campaign. Also the car companies can use the gas in the unwanted cars to give to the car salesmen as a ensentive to sell the new cars. Ex: They sell 15 cars or more they get free gas for a month with gift cards.

I don't see any negatives except that it would be expensive at 1st to reimburse customers.
