I'm a senior in high school, and 'tis the season for college applications... which I haven't really started yet. I'm working on it. Anyway, my list of colleges that I'm applying to consists of three in-state schools. My parents doubt I'll be able to go without financial aid. This is what prevented me from looking at out-of-state schools! Money. Always money. Is it naive for me to wish I could go to college far away from home? To want to go to Chicago? (I live in Wisconsin. It's not that far away.) I don't know, I feel like my parents want me to live at home and go to community college or some crap like that. I want to go somewhere loud and exciting, and live on my own. Is this unreasonable? What's the difference between a two hour car ride and a two hour plane ride away?
