My Sanyo Vero (SCP-3820) for Sprint charges with some charging devices and not with others. I'm trying to find the "golden rule" to figure out why certain chargers will work with this device and others do not. It has a micro USB port connection on it. The micro USB cord mentioned in each instance listed below is the same, so it's a known good cord.
It DOES charge with...
* included AC adapter, listed output 5v @ 800ma.
* USB port on my macbook connected to the micro USB cord. According to Mac's System Profiler, the port is rated 5v at 500ma.
* USB port on a Belkin F5U307 USB Hub, output 5v @ 500ma, connected to the micro USB cord.
It does NOT charge with...
* USB ports on either my Dell laptop or my Dell Desktop (output unknown) connected to the micro USB cord.
* USB ports on Grifin A/C -> USB adapter PB-BLK-2 (Output 5.2v @ 500ma) connected to the micro USB cord.
* Sprint 12v "Cigarette Lighter" -> Micro USB travel charger (rated 5v @ 850ma).
* USB port on Belkin BZ103050-TVL AC -> USB adapter (Output 5v @ 500ma) connected to the micro USB cord.
* Either of two 12V "Cigarettes Lighter" -> USB Port car adapters connected to the micro USB cord. Adapters are rated at 700ma and 2000ma.
The phone takes a charge from two devices rated at 500ma and one rated at 800ma.
It doesn't take a charge with several other devices rated at 500ma, 700ma, 850ma, 2000ma. The devices that the Sanyo phone doesn't charge with do work with other devices (some other phones, ipods, other assorted USB accessories).
Scratching my head trying to figure this one out.
