Question about Changing phones

So I started out with Verizon with the 450 anytime + unlim text and a Samsung Glyde. The touch screen was horrible so I upgraded to a blackberry curve and got the $29.99 internet plan. I just lost my job and I'm having trouble affording the monthly fees. Is it possible to buy a crappy verizon phone and get rid of the internet plan? I was thinking of selling the curve because its BRAND NEW and getting something a little less expensive. I talked to a rep on the phone and she told me my next monthly bill should be about $120. It's $195. I can't afford to pay that when I have no job. So if I buy another verizon phone from someone can't I just change it to be my phone and get rid of my blackberry?

Try calling customer service and explain your situation. Ask them if you can have your data plan be 'as you go' instead of per month. 'As you go' entails paying half a cent per kilobyte for internet usage. If you don't use it, there will be no charges, just make sure you don't use it.

Also go over your bill and see what other charges there are, and make sure you really understand it. Verizon to verizon calls should be included in your plan, texting is another story so check to make sure what your plan includes; and when you do have to pay extra, plain texts (SMS) are cheaper than picture and video msgs (MMS).

This can all add up, but if you know what your plan includes, and you try and stick to it, there's no reason why you can't hold on to that Curve.
