Is it only the front calipers that are made by different manufacturers or are the rear that way as well? I need to replace my front brakes but don't know which caliper I have. I know I can remove the tire and it'll say on the caliper, but I'll have to remove the tire, find out which one I need, replace the tire, go get them, remove the tire again, etc etc. I want to know ahead of time so I can go buy and replace them, only removing the tire one time. (No, I don't have a second car)
I replaced my rear brakes yesterday but never asked which caliper type they are. I looked the up the part (Brake Best C791 from O'Reilly's Auto Parts) but it doesn't say. Can I tell what the fronts are by what I used on the rear, or are they two different animals all together?
