Question about boot camp for Navy?

If you sign up/join the navy and go off to boot camp......will they send you home just because you didn't like it? I have a co worker whose son came home after just a month at boot camp because he did not not like it. That just seems weird. Not what I understand about enlisting in the military. Is there a way to look it up?
 
Boot camp is a way for the military to discover if you are "Military material". Many people want to go in but after 2 or 3 weeks they know it's not for them. They want out. So the military lets them out. Saves time and money in the long run.
