I was never raised Christian but ever since I was little I thought all those Bible stories were just metaphors for how to live a good life and stuff, like fables. I am in a high level theology class in a very conservative university. The professor is has a phD in theology, so I am pretty sure they know what they are talking about. He told us about symbolism in the bible stories, like how Jonah in the whale for 3 days is like Christ the 3 days before he was resurrected. One kid in my class raised his hand and seriously asked the teacher if Jonah was actually in the whale. I wanted to laugh. But it started this big debate because half of the class thinks the stories in the bible are REAL. All of them. Why do they think that? Wtf?
