My husband and I have one daughter right now that is (almost) 6 years old. For the past couple of years we have wanted to have another child but haven't been able to get pregnant. I asked my sister if she would be a surrogate for us and she said yes! Now, where do we go from here? I don't want to do IVF because it is much more expensive. She is a healthy 25 year old woman so she won't need any extra medications to stimulate her ovaries or anything like that. How much will it cost for artificial insemination and how effective is it usually? She would be using my husbands sperm so there wouldn't be a fee for donor sperm either. Any information would be very useful!
Sorry, that's another part of it, she would be using her eggs.
Haha Don't want husband to have sex with her. That's just awkward
I understand that there will be expenses incurred. This is our first go around with any sort of fertility "help". I know that artificial insemination is cheaper than IVF. That's the only reason I would like to attempt it first. I would rather not put a ton of money into IVF if artificial insemination would work for us.
and I don't think the midget thing will work, but thanks for trying
Also, I was on Mirena IUD for a year and a half after I had my daughter. I completely lost my menstrual cycle for that length of time and when the IUD came out they never returned. I also have PCOS which causes a lack of menstrual cycle as well. Instead of trying to "fix" me I would rather just have my sister do it since she is healthy and able as of now. I've wanted another child for a long time now. We haven't been on birth control in over 4 and a half years and still nothing!
