I want to buy a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 from a friend. It's a v8, 5.9 liter, 4wd, with extended cab, straight pipes, and 164,000 miles on it. My friend has always taken good care of it and it looked great when i last saw before i went to college. he's putting new bearings in it and getting a little body work done, but i want to know, should i be worried about it having so many miles on it? will it be likely to need lots of repairs soon? how long does this model last. i don't want to buy a truck that's going to crap out on me after a few months, because i need a good truck for NY winters.
