ques about perfume lotions

I would like to know if these perfume lotions, that are sometimes sold with the perfume bottle, if they are a good means of moisturizing the skin during the winter months.

Although they smell good, they aren't the best means of keeping yourself well moistureized in the winter months. they are more water than anything else.

My dermatologist told me that the greasier the lotion that you are using, the better it is for your skin and the longer it will remain on your skin. The smoother lotions contain more water that evaporate quicker. This is the same with the lotions that have perfume in them.

I use bag balm on my hands in the winter. this is very greasy, but leaves my hands and feet soft all year long.

Ibake is right about greasier preparations being able to hold in moisture better.

I would like to also suggest Vaseline skin care lotions. Petroleum jelly is an excellent skin protector and moisturizer (just do not use in your ears or too near your eyes).

thanks for the input....with regards to the greasier lotion, one lady behind the counter told me that the lotions for the face shouldn't be greasy. i asked because i used, dove it think, face lotion, and being that i have oily skin, she told me that dove wasn't good b/c it is greasy to begin with, and being that it will make my face more oily as a result. does this theory apply? I don'/t use those perfume lotions on my face, by the way.

For oily facial skin, you should use an astringent daily before applying lotion. The astringent will help keep your skin clean and also remove the oil. You might want to ask the lady you buy your products from what she would recommend for you to use on your face.

It might be that the only thing you would need is a moisturizing face wash. I have oily skin and believe it or not, using baby wipes (no soap) that contain aloe vera and Vitamin E seems to keep it in order.
