Quantum Physics. If you do know of any 'book' or author!?

Hawkins or Kaku, is there a conflict ? Who to follow in the quest for M Theory, Steven, I think, said that all information is lost in a black hole Michio believes that it exists in 'another place', dimension, who's right ? does it matter ? the question is, am I ever going to understand Quantum Physics, or is it a complete waste of my time to even try, but I do find it so 'interesting''.
If anyone knows of any other writers that I should know about, please do let me know.
 
I love to read about quantum physics also. I find that Google has an almost endless list of articles on the subject and I download articles on an almost weekly basis. Most scientists will admit they have trouble understanding the topic as well but I have found that to understand it better you must simply keep on reading articles and your understanding will gradually improve.
