OS X: Plain text is plain text, but if it has an unusual file extension that the Finder doesn't understand then it'll assume it's something else. This is particularly problematic with QuickLook, the feature that shows you a document preview when you select it and press the space bar. The QLStephen plugin fixes that problem. More »
