I have a Mazda Protege 4door sedan SE 1998 with an older Python remote car starter installed which came with it used like 6 years ago. It has never worked 100%. Ive tried cleaning the remote inside and out, changed batteries a few times, with no change. What happens is the LED flashes on the remote while holding the starter button, but the car will only receive the signal like 10% of the time or less.
bottom line, you gotta hold the button for like 5 minutes or get lucky for it to start remotely.
Would this be something i can fix on my own? not the remotes fault but the remote part inside the car?
