When to bike shuts down, everything dies. No lights, no starter, no flashers nor turn signals. Completely dead. It takes sometimes 20-30 seconds for the power to kick back on, but it seems like an eternity on the freeway. When I ride that bike I try to stay in lane 1 so I can pull over to restart. Not always possible. Mostly that bike is becoming a garage queen.

Is that bike one of the years/models that had problems with the main circuit breaker? I seem to recall an issue with that in some bikes. I think they had too light of a breaker in them. After popping the breakers it would reset itself in about 30 seconds.

I thought the same thing so I've had the main circuit breaker replaced at least 3 times, maybe more. Still same issue. Sure acts like main circuit breaker though.

My bet is that is is the main breaker popping, but not necessarily a faulty breaker. You may have something that occasionally shorts out causing the breaker to blow. You may need to start checking all the wiring. I'd start at the battery and work my way through it. When you do figure it out, please post here what you found.

I have a 2000 FLTRSEI that is doing the exact same thing. It just started last night, and happened twice today about 5 minutes apart. Please let me know if you figure out what the problem is, it is definately a little scary when it happens, especially when it happens at night b/c you loose all power to include head & tail lights!
