Putting petrol in a Chrysler Neon.?

Archangel

I have just bought a 2000 Chrysler Neon (UK spec).

It needs petrol but the nozzle in the petrol station doesnt go into the filler cap very far. This is leading to the nozzle stopping the flow of petrol, as if the tank was full.

I was trying to put in 95 Unleaded. took about 5 mins to put £5 worth of petrol in it.

Any ideas?

Ive never used 98 unleaded because its for high performance cars right?

I know that Diesel fillers are different from petrol in some cases to stop accidental mix ups, is there a similar thing with petrols?

Ive had 5 cars in the past, all using 95 unleaded and never had this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
