When I get older, I'd like to pursue a career in performing arts, but my mom thinks of this as an unrealistic goal. It's something I'm extremely passionate about. I LOVE acting. Being involved in it makes me so happy. My mom never takes me seriously when I talk about that stuff though. She always says stuff like, "You're a smart girl. Do something different with your life. Don't waste your smarts." I don't want to get into some college dealing with technology, math or science. I don't care about that stuff. I don't know what to do. Should I keep following my dream or give it up now and get a "real" job?
