Purchasing a Nokia 6700 Slide?

I was thinking about buying a Nokia 6700 slide phone, on the site it says:

Home Screen
See your favourite contacts and their pictures on your home screen – you can click to call them or check their text messages and call logs.

but i rather not have that on the home screen so what i want to know, if anyone has one can that be removed by using the settings? or does it stay on all the time?
