Hi everyone! I have read so much lately about the findings in most bottled water that I decided to go out and purchase a PUR water dispenser system. First of all, I did wash it on low setting in my dishwasher to get all dirt etc..from it ( I hope that was okay to do, then I washed it by hand to make double sure. I have been an Aquafina drinker for many years that I can't even remember the last time I drank tap water. Now they are coming out with saying that tap water is safer than bottled water because the bottled water source only has to be checked once a week whereas your tap water has to be tested everyday.
So along with other stuff claimed about the bottled water, I made a switch to the PUR system only because they say that everything in their filter is non toxic and Brita does not make that same claim. So, for ya'll that have the PUR water system, do you like it? Can you tell me some pros or cons about it? It did taste different to me after comparing it to the aquafina but I'm sure I'm just not used to it. I also learned that the water bottles that we carry with us (such as the sport, hiking, biking etc..bottles that we refill that if it has a "PC" on the bottom of the bottle, it means that it's polycarbonate and you don't want to put that in the dishwasher because the heat releases a chemical from the plastic. I didn't know that before.
Interesting stuff, but I guess the bottom line is, something is always bad for ya!
