My step son has allergies and asthma and recacts to each dog (even within the same breed) differently. We have a puppy now and he has no reaction whatsoever no allergy no tightness in his chest. He is 19 years old and is afraid that if as the dog matures he may have a reaction and if he does, he does not want to hurt his little brothers feelings by having to have the dog removed.
My gut feeling is that if he is having no problems now we should be ok- i do not see the puppy salvia changing much as the puppy matures, but the coat will change and i guess this MAY cause a problem??? i don't know if these rarablings make sense but does anyone have any insight??

Thanks in advance for your consideration---

It's not the fur that causes allergies, it's the dander. Dander is old skin scales that are microscopic. Your son is probably not reacting yet because it's a puppy and his skin is new, so to speak. As time goes by and the dog matures and the dander permeates the house his allergies will most likely kick in. So you can either find the puppy a new home before everyone gets too attached or look into allergy shots for your 19 year old so he can tolerate the dog until he moves out. Good luck.
