My fifth grade history teacher, named Mr. Hardy, had every student go up to the board and write down what we knew about George Washington. When we finished, Mr Hardy stomped up to the board, and proceeded to erase ALL the positive things we had written.
He called Washington a liar and a slave owner. He gave a ten minute lecture about the hypocrisies of Washington.
At the end of the unit, A question on the test said "What are some of the faults of Founding Fathers" The correct answer was "they owned slaves"
In the answers, tell me about your public school indoctrination stories!
