PSP error - This game cannot be started. The data is corrupted - Semibricked?

Hello Everyone,

I have a PSP-Phat which I bought from Australia and have been running nicely on firmware 3.71 M33-2 nicely since the last 3 years that I have been in USA.

It did not allow me to play games like God of War:Ghost of Sparta. And henceforth, I upgraded it to 5.00 M33-2 which used to be really good. After a month, I upgraded the firmware further to 5.50 Gen D2.

But now, it does not recognize any of my ISO/CSO files (they are in the ISO folder at the root of my Memory stick); nor does it allow me to upgrade the firmware via "Game - Memory Stick" as it gives the error - " This game cannot be started. The data is corrupted"

I have tried "Hellcat's Recovery flasher", "Cheesethief's Recovery Package", trying to downgrade my psp firmware to 5.00 M33-2 .. and a lot of other ways depicted in the various forums, youtube videos, etc. But I cant start anything via Games-MemoryCard route (I put the files in the PSP-GAMES folder and everythng, followed the steps very tediously) as it gives me the error - "This game cannot be started. The data is corrupted".

Again, I am not able to start my Recovery menu. And I do not want to go via the Pandora battery route.

So how do I downgrade my PSP firmware to 5.00 M33-2 (as it was the best running firmware, or so I believe, which would allow me to play Ghost of Sparta, etc) ? Or if you suggest, how do I upgrade my firmware to 5.50 Gen D2 or mayb D3/D4 .. ?

Your any help in this regard will be fairly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Love & Regards ..
