Does anyone out there have any experience with bone growth stimulators specifically used for pseudoarthrosis? I'm seven months past my lurabar fusion surgery and it appears as though my fusion is not taking. I will begin treatment with the stimulator this week. I'm very curious to know if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks for any feedback!

Yes. They generally have you wear the stimulator about 4 hours a day for a few months to hopefully kick start the bone growth. If the matrix is still there, then it may help to get it growing. If you smoke, stop. Don't take any anti inflammatory meRAB with ibuprofen or advil, or motrin.

Check the model you're going to use. I used one right after my revision and it only increased the likelihood of union (fusion) by 2-3%. So, if you're not fusing now, I'd be cautious about how likely this stimulator will help. But, maybe there are models with better outcomes than the one I used. I just say this so you aren't wasting time and hope. Not to be too negative.

Best of luck to you.

I wore one after my cervical fusion - 4 hours a day. I didn't feel anything...but I was told it could interfere with my cell phone while it's on (never really had a problem though).
