PS3 Question: Why does this keep happening?

I was playing my PS3 yesterday the game was MLB 09 The Show. Everything was fine until I was simming my schedule and all of a sudden the game had reset and it exited went to the PS3 main menu. So when I went back into the game I tried playing the game where I had left off and it reset again. Why does this keep happening?
