PS3 or XBOX360 - which is better for streaming media?

Hi There,

I have been thinking of getting a new xbox360 to use as a media extender: but I have been told that I can do the same thing with a PS3 by using “Media Servers.” So what I want to ask is how easy is to use the PS3 Media Servers and can I do the same things with them as I can with the xbox360 and “Windows Media Centre Extender.”

Plus which is better for games and online play – I already have an xbox360, but I dont have a PS3 so I cant compaire them to each other.

Can someone who has both or who has had both give me a comparison please

i have 360 and it is great as a media extender. my friend has PS3 and although it took them a while, they are catching up to xbox in terms of what you can do and quality of the features. i would say right now xbox is better, but just getting it online costs money.

edit - oh yeah and the last.fm thing the guy below me is talking about is freaking awesome. it's like pandora but with way more seletion
