Ps3 official Bluetooth headset not working?

I have the official Sony ps3 Bluetooth headset and I have had it a few months and up to now it has worked perfect but now when I turn it on it goes green but it isn't linked with the ps3. Also if I plug it into the USB it goes red for a second or two then nothing happens even if I press on or mute
