With your ps3 on,plug the headset into the ps3 using the mini usb cable (same cable you use for charging your controller) it should light up green. Then go to the XMB menu, into (settings) then to (accessory setting) then to (audio device settings) press the X button. Then go to (input device), look for "wireless headset" and press the X button. This will allow you to here the other players chat messages on your headset. Hope this helps you.
