I stream media to my PS3 from my laptop via a program called PS3 Media Server. Unfortunately, some of my files don't stream smoothly and I have no idea why. By looking at the video file info on the PS3, a Family Guy episode I try to stream is a DivX avi. file. It's not HD or anything, in fact the quality is quite poor and for some reason it won't play; it just keeps stuttering. What baffles me is that I played a CSI:NY episode which was also a DivX avi. file and that played fine. And CSI:NY episodes are twice as long as Family Guy episodes.
I know that the Family Guy episodes are fine as they play on my laptop fine. I have an intel core 2 duo processor with 2GB RAM so I know I have capable hardware. Even 720p stuff plays better than the Family Guy episodes. Why won't the Family Guy episodes play?
