PS3 Launch Outsells Xbox360 Launch

Some how I just don't believe this, especially since my local target electronic worker was out advertising and trying to force people to buy the ps3's they had in stock.

from sony's POV they are sold...to retailers...only some ~850k are in actually consumers hands though

still beats the 360s 900k shipped 675k sold numbers

What's to believe? You misinterpreted the article and posted a thread on here thinking it was something it's clearly not. You even added the smiley to it. Talk about thread backfire...

Pretty funny how US retailers have a larger install base for the PS3 than gamers themselves....

Sony would like you to believe that it's sold 1 million units to customers in North America, but that 1 million number....is units "sold" to retailers. Meaning, shipped. Where they end up sitting, because nobody is buying them (see pics below):

I didn't believe it either. Then I saw about five consoles at Target, and two at Walmart while still on X-mas break. This was late afternoon when I went by. The local Sears even has a couple that have been there for a few days now.

we sell a $700 bundle at costco, and since ive been working there this break all 3 shipments of 20 or so systems have sold out within a couple hours every time.

im not sure where you people are seeing 50 ps3s on shelves. must have been a pic taken right when the store opened
